I got this off my gmail ticker a few minutes ago:
On the one hand, I see where the EPA is coming from. While I didn’t read any more than just this article, it seems that stricter laws in CA would mean a different set of standards for auto makers and would open up a precedent for different standards in every state. While I don’t feel any particular sympathy for car makers, the people who would feel the brunt of this financially are the people buying the cars.
On the other hand, we’re talking about making this a healthier place to live, and it really is about time for the EPA to tell politicians and big businesses to help or get out of the way.
I feel a rant about campaign finance reform coming on, and it’s really too early in the morning for that.
