Jeff sent this to me earlier today. Now I’ve always said that I didn’t become a vegetarian to save the animals, but to help the people, and in turn help the environment. After reading this, however, I’m about to add “save the animals” to my list. In the old days, people used to raise their own crops and kill their own livestock – humanely – in order to feed their families. I don’t have any objection to meat being eaten under circumstances like this because there isn’t overconsumption of any single resource in that scenario.
